Beberapa pola perbezaan leksikal dalam Kamus Dewan dan Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia: satu analisis berdasarkan model tiga segi semiotik
Abstract
This study is to discuss the lexical differences in Malay-Indonesian dictionaries based on Ogden and Richard semiotic triangle model. Kamus Dewan Third Edition (1994) (henceforth I(D) and Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia Third Edition (2001) (henceforth, KBBI) has been chosen as they are regarded as the most authoritative and renowned monolingual dictionaries. This paper focused on the lexical differences in BMM and BI based on semiotic triangle model. This can be seen from the perspective of thing, perspective of word (same word, differ-ent meaning, same word but narrowing or extended in meaning either in one or both variety, same word, difference in style, attitude, tempo-ral, and frequency of use, words that contain certain concepts/phe-nomenon which exist or used in one variety), perspective of concept (same, concept, different word; same concept, different word but differ in frequency of use). This study tries to highlight the divergence of lexical aspects that affect the efficiency of communicative competence and mutual intelligibility in BMM and BI.
