Abstract

The issue of capability of Malay language as a language of knowledge, especially in the fields of science and technology has been always raised. Precisely, the capability of the Malay as the language of science is doubted. This article is an attempt to analyse this issue. A total number, 300 biology terms, were anlaysed in terms of their capability, i.e. capability from the aspect of concept, morphology, and the usage.
