Abstract

A language dies if all the people who speak it are dead due to the effect of natural disasters, famine, infectious diseases, wars, etc. Nevertheless, language death can also be due to the current preoccupation with global English, global assimilation, and cultural colonisations. In any case, it is the attitude of the speakers that determine the survival of a language. Therefore it is vital for the speakers to maintain the positive attitude towards their own language by eliminating the concept of language dominance. In other words, no language dominates the other, such dominance only exists in the mind of its speakers.
